Oxo Good Grips 9-Inch Locking Tongs with Nylon Heads
I bought these because of their high amazon ratting. My tongs broke…The spring device used to open and close them is now jutting out off the handle and pokes you, and now they are unuseable..I contacted oxo and they sent me knew ones with ease.
for some reason I can’t change the star raiting, but it’s definitly a 5! The easy locking feature is the best I’ve seen. Easy storage. Best tongs I swear, I have them in two sizes. Would higly recommend
I have found the Oxo line of kitchen tools to be one of the best out today. One reason is that my mother has arthritis and therefore finds it easier to work with the Oxo products. Another reason is that my husband has much larger hands and finds the Oxo tools much more comfortable. Me? I enjoy the quality and features each have.
I can only give this four stars, because invariably I have found that when I go to use them, my husband or mother have already abscounded with them– therefore, if you share your home with others who like to cook, you really need at least two.
But the few times I have worked with them have been lovely. The pin at the top is very easy to push in to release the tongs and they lock very easily when not in use. I find that my hold onto my food is very secure. They clean like a dream. My husband really likes them for his BBQ, which is why I almost have to wrestle them out of his hands. We’ve had our tongs for about two years, and they’ve held up well. And now that our son is learning to cook himself, I may break down and get yet another one for him.
So if you are looking for a gift for a foodie– or yourself– consider getting one or two of these tongs. They are wonderful!
These tongs work pretty well. I liked the nylon tips for use on nonstick cookware. However, I think the nylon tips are too thick, making it hard to pick up pork chops or anything else using just the tongs in one hand. This is a little disappointing. I think I will try the thinner tipped silicone tongs next. Otherwise I’ve been very impressed with OXO products.
They enable me to pick hot things up so I don’t burn my fingers.
