Saw a piece on Oprah about the author – his method of getting information on the recipe was to tell the staff he had food allergies and needed to know what was in the dish. He may think this is cute and clever, but to those of us with food allergies (or worse, the parents of children with food allergies) this truely is a matter of life and death. I would hate to be told ‘no, we’re not telling you what’s in that’ because establishments don’t appreciate this guy and his methods. Many of us really do need to know for the safety of our children.
The book has maybe half a dozen things I would have considered making, but alot of it was copies of dressings and mixes, hardly worth the trouble of making yourself. Anyway, after his appearance on Oprah I returned both books to Costco on principle.
Book was received in top condition and unbelievably in timely manner even considering the holidays !
I have yet to receive the book I ordered. It’s now way past the date that it was supposed to be received. It WAS a Christmas present, so it’s too late now. I also contacted them a week ago and they have yet to bother to write me or contact me. Horrible customer service and I will never buy from them again.
The cookbook is adequate. However, many of the recipes that I wanted were not in this edition. I am also somewhat disappointed in the format used in producing this cookbook.
Many of the recipes in this book can be found on Wilbur’s website (for a fee) or on a variety of recipe sites that have clones on them. I wouldn’t bother with the book.
